SUMMARY:Solving Museum Problems with a Digital Partner
DESCRIPTION:Behind the scenes\, while museum doors were closed in 2020\, many problems were being solved. How can the exhibition content be accessible to audiences? How do we reopen safely? What stories are our visitors most interested to hear? How can we best sell our museums’ merchandise online? We will be interviewing Anna Lowe from Smartify about how they helped answer those questions as a digital partner to museums\, and what new developments the Smarity team is most excited about in 2021.

SUMMARY:Connected to Culture LIVE: Digital – Inclusion or Exclusion?
DESCRIPTION:In response to the COVID-19 pandemic\, digital offerings from the arts and culture sector have expanded dramatically. From streamed live performances to virtual museum tours\, organisations have embraced digital projects in myriad creative ways with the aim of growing audience engagement. But this increased activity has further highlighted a divide between those who can and cannot access digital content easily.\nThe arts and cultural sector already plays an important role within communities who cannot access the internet and lack adequate devices and/or skills to connect digitally – but how can we further support inclusivity at a time when digital is the prime means of connecting? In this webinar we will explore research around barriers to digital engagement and will hear from organisations who have focused on inclusion by connecting with and supporting their audiences and local communities to break down these barriers.
