Fingerprints DAO has announced their upcoming digital art collection, Maschine, created by artist Harm van den Dorpel in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz. The collection will consist of 1,000 unique NFTs, all generated from the same algorithm inscribed permanently on the Ethereum blockchain, which will also work to track the ownership of each piece.
The sale will take place on Wednesday, June 7th, beginning at noon ET.
Maschine is a digital art compilation that explores the themes of velocity and perception. Each of the unique artworks depicts a star-like shape that spins at ever faster speeds, which causes the perceived image to change like fast-moving car wheels, often appearing to be turning backwards in hypnotizing fashion.
Maschine follows the launch and announcement of Mercedes-Benz’s new web3 presence, Mercedes-Benz NXT. Mercedes-Benz is marking its entrance into web3 with an artistic venture that imbues its luxury aesthetic into the world of digital art.
Fingerprints DAO was selected as the collaborator on this project due to its community of leading digital art collectors, its experience in creating high-end digital art projects, and its trust and credibility in the blockchain-based art community.
Founded in 2021, Fingerprints is home to 260+ members including influential collectors, leading digital artists, and top venture capital firms including multi-faceted Dutch artist Harm van den Dorpel. Harm has been at the forefront of blockchain-based art since 2015. His work uses generative algorithms to create constantly evolving and changing artworks.
“It’s always a pleasure to work with artists from the Fingerprints Collection. The level of artistic substance Harm brings to the project is refreshing and makes everyone excited to make this drop happen,” said Luiz Ramalho, Fingerprints DAO Founder.
