This week, JOOPITER, the digital-first auction house and content platform founded by Pharrell Williams, unveiled ‘Just Phriends,’ an innovative auction and retail experience. Curated in collaboration with Sarah Andelman, the visionary behind the legendary Parisian concept store colette (1997-2017) and owner of consulting and curating company Just an Idea, the auction promises a diverse array of lots that reflect the unique orbits of both Williams and Andelman.

Running through June 27, the auction offers a mix of rare artworks, culturally significant objects, and exclusive interdisciplinary collaborations spanning fine art, high jewelry, furniture design, fashion, and objects. Many of the works are bespoke, unseen, or specially created for this auction, showcasing the innovative approach of JOOPITER in blending art, culture, and commerce.

Key lots include Takashi Murakami and Pharrell Williams’ “The Simple Things,” a George Condo painting titled “Portrait of an English Lady,” and a KAWS-designed MTV Video Music Awards “Moonman” trophy. The auction will also feature a custom Tiffany & Co. x Pharrell Williams Astro Mint Pendant and a one-of-a-kind Richard Mille timepiece, signed by Pharrell.

In addition to the auction, JOOPITER is also hosting a ‘Just Phriends’ Gift Shop pop-up during the Paris exhibition, offering exclusive artist editions, custom merchandise, and special items available only at the event. The Gift Shop also hosts a series of exclusive events and artist conversations, further enhancing the immersive experience.

The ‘Just Phriends’ auction represents a significant innovation in the art and retail market, merging the worlds of high art, fashion, and pop culture in a unique and accessible format. By offering a diverse range of lots and experiences, JOOPITER is not only expanding the traditional boundaries of the auction format but also creating a new market fit for a younger, more digitally savvy generation of collectors.
