Premiering on May 24 at the National Gallery of Victoria in Australia is the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces presentation of Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality, where visitors can explore the Qin Emperor’s terracotta warriors along with 150-plus awe-inspiring artifacts of ancient Chinese art and design. Shown in unison with the historical display is a collection of new artworks by contemporary artist Cai Guo-Qiang, titled Cai Guo-Qiang: The Transient Landscape; in which, each masterpiece is inspired by the history, places and culture that served as the backdrop to the reign of China’s first emperor Qin Shihuang. To further complement the exhibits and captivate Chinese museumgoers, NGV is offering free- guided tours of both in Mandarin on Saturdays and Sundays. Running through October 2019, plan a visit at ngv.vic.gov.au.
