2021 was the year museums widely embraced digital and creative technologies as a result of COVID-19’s long-term impacts. They engaged with the NFT boom, launched tech-enabled projects, digitized collections, and even expanded into the metaverse. With these, museums and cultural organizations have greatly expanded their physical sites to become truly borderless, thriving on multiple platforms.
As part of Jing Culture & Commerce’s year-end coverage, we will be hosting “The Year In Digital Innovations: From NFTs To Creative Tech,” a webinar that dives into a year’s worth of digital innovations and strategies. The event will take place on Wednesday, December 15, at 1 pm EST/6 pm GMT.
Joining the webinar are panelists Anna Lowe, Co-Founder & Director of Partnerships at Smartify, Brendan Cieko, Founder and CEO of Cuseum, and Bernadine Bröcker Wieder, CEO of Vastari. From their unique vantage points, they will offer perspectives into how cultural venues innovated in a year of change and transition — and where they might go from here.
Moderated by Fei Lu, Staff Writer at Jing Culture & Commerce, the discussion will center on four key areas, namely creative technologies in a hybrid landscape, the emergence of NFTs, audience engagement and accessibility, and a look ahead to 2022. All together, the virtual event aims to provide museum professionals with insights into how to meaningfully adopt technology, engage with the NFT space, and plan for digital sustainability beyond 2021.
