The Shanghai K11 Art Mall has kicked off its “Art and Color” event, featuring the works of international contemporary artists and offering a diverse art experience for its visitors. Among the highlights is the first-ever global art exhibition by American animator Danny Casale, also known as Coolman Coffeedan, who boasts millions of fans worldwide.

Casale’s exhibition, titled “Dumb Dreams and Messy Hands,” is currently on display at the chi K11 Art Museum. The artist himself was present at the event, showcasing his distinctive style of graffiti art. The exhibition is divided into four “amusement park” themed sections, immersing visitors in a world of vibrant cyber colors.

The exhibition showcases 43 of Casale’s representative animated works since 2017. Not only does it feature a comprehensive collection of his short films, including the notable “Snakes Have Legs,” but it also displays precious manuscripts used for recording inspiration.

The four exhibition spaces are filled with high-saturation neon colors, reflecting the artist’s creative trajectory and artistic growth. Coupled with adorable animated characters, the exhibition delivers a visually striking art experience.

“Dumb Dreams and Messy Hands” runs from July 7 to October 7, 2023.  The exhibition is located at the chi K11 Art Museum (B3, K11 Art Mall, 300 Huaihai Middle Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai).
