Two decades after a Wu-Tang CD in rural China set VanceDNA on a transformative artistic journey, Miami’s Museum of Graffiti is set to unveil his works to an American audience. The Shanghai sensation, celebrated for his unique ability to turn American pop culture icons into 2-dimensional transparent figures, will be the star of the VIP Grand Opening Celebration of “TRANSPARENT” on September 9, 2023.

VanceDNA’s artistry is a testament to the power of cultural fusion. His roots in traditional Jiangsu painting, combined with the vibrant energy of hip-hop and graffiti, have birthed masterpieces that are both nostalgically evocative and avant-garde. His large-scale murals and oil paintings, characterized by their hyper-realism, play with light, shadow, and materials like glass and ice, creating a mesmerizing visual narrative.

Having left his mark from the streets of Macau to elite galleries in Germany, Vance is not just a leading figure in Asia’s graffiti crew DNA but also a proud member of Thailand’s MSV crew.

Alan Ket, co-founder of the Museum of Graffiti, expressed his excitement about the upcoming exhibit. “Introducing VanceDNA to the US is a defining moment in contemporary art. His creations, which seamlessly blend diverse cultures, eras, and emotions, offer a compelling and thought-provoking fusion,” Ket said.

Art enthusiasts are invited to step into the Museum of Graffiti on September 9, from 6 PM to 9 PM, to immerse themselves in VanceDNA’s world—a place where East meets West, and icons are reborn. The “TRANSPARENT” exhibit will be open to the public until November 15, 2023.
